SHEEPOWNERS' PROTEST

"UNJUST AND BAD POLICY"

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")

DUNEDIN, This Day. The following resolution, was passed at a meeting of the Otago Sheepowners' Association:—

'^This meetiug protests against tho action of the Government in destroying free competition in the marketing of London exchange. This exchange is created by the primary producers and belongs to them, and they are entitled to its market value in the open market. Tho action taken represents a special tax upon the farmers, and it is unjust and bad policy to place a new disability upon an industry that is already in grave difficulties, in order to avoid temporary inconvenience to the Government."
