£2000 DAMAGES CLAIMED

fr The hearing of the claim for £2000 damages brought by Emmie Cavell, widow of the late James Alexander Cavell, metal worker, against Timothy Sullivan, taxi proprietor, was continued in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. . As the result .of a collision between a taxi-cab owned by the defendant and a bicycle ridden by Cavell, at the junction of Taranaki street and- Buckle street, on the 15th of August last Cavell sustained injuries which proved fatal. It was submitted, on behalf of plaintiff, that the driver of the taxicab so negligently ana unskilfully controlled the vehicle that it collided with the bicycle which Cavel! was riding. For tho defence, it was alleged that the accident was due entirely to tho negligence of the cyclist. Tho hearing of evidence for the defence was continued to-day.
