China is under active consideration. Sir John Simon is expected to make & statement in. the House of Commons to-day. ■ ■! The "Morning Post's" diplomatic correspondent says that irritation is openly expressed in official quarters in London at the manner in which Japan is threatening the enoiiaous British interests, which are in no way concerned "ivith Japan's quarrel with China. British capital invested in the ShangKai settlement is at least £70,000,000.
