EXHIBITIONS AND MEDALS
The following awards of local exhibitions and medals have been made to, candidates who sat for examinations of- the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, during the year 1931 lnere are three exhibitions,' tenable -at one oi the Royal Schools in London, which have not yet been awarded, the decision resting with the board in London:—
Licentiate Examinations; two £25 prized *°r the highest marks in each Island,— f. °™ n Island: Moira Tinline (St. Benedict s Convent, Auckland), pianoforte, and Eldred Scaly (Miss E k SatchwelL Auckland), pianoforte, equal. South Island: M. Phyllis Kinniburgh (Mr. E. Empson, Christchurch), pianoforte. Local Centre Examinations.—Medallists: Final grade, gold medal, Gordon V, Anderson (Miss K. Lund, Christehurch), pianoforte. Final grade, silver medals: Rona Day (The Convent, Nelson), pianoforte; Maieie Kilkelly (Dominican Nuns, Dunedin), pianoforte. Advanced grade, gold medal, Ethel M. Jackson (Madame J. Ottlee, Christchurch), singing. Advanced grade, silver modal, Eleanor Leach (The Convent, Nelson), pianoforte. Intermediate grade, gold medal, Lawrence Harrington (Mr. L. C. Walker, Wellington), violin. Intermediate grade, silver medal, Eunice Bernasconi (Mr. Leon do Mauny, Wellington), violin. Local Exhibitions, £15 and £10 each.— Advanced grade: Frank Piper (Mr. A E. Wilson, Auckland), pianoforte. Intermediate grade: Helen Smith (Miss L. Greig, Timaru), violin. The Violet Ward Prize, Christchurch.— Gordon V. Anderson (Miss K. Lund), final grade, pianoforte.
