Butter.—New Zealand salted, 975, 99s to 100s (96s to 98s), unsalted 114s to 116s {112s to 118s), first whey 92s (90s), second whey 90s (SSs); Australian, salted 90s to 89s (95s to 9Ss), unsalted IOSs to 110s (108s. to 109s); Argentine-unsalted 08s to 102s (36s to 9Ss). , Market firm on improved "demand. Danish 128s f.0.b., 135s to 136s spot (128s to" 1365). New Zealand retail price Is Id, Danish Is 4d. Empire Marketing Board's, estimated, stocks, all butters in store at 26th December, 1931, 433,826 boxes, last year 252,141 boxes. Estimated stocks all butters in London and/or provincial stores at Ist January, 1932, 20,000 tons, including ships not discharged New Zealand, Tamaroa, Port Hunter, and Coptic, 3400 tons. Cheese.—New Zealand; white 5Gs to 58s (55s to 565), coloured 54s to 56s' (54s to 555); Australian, white 54s to 555, coloured 53s to 545. Market firm on improved demand. New Zealand retail price Sd. Canadian, white — (62s to 70s), coloured 66s to 70s (62s to 68s); English, finest farmers 100s (100s). Market quiet. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received the following market report from Messrs. Trenßrotise and Nathan, Ltd., London, dated 4th January, 1932:— New Zealand butter: Owing to strike lightermen and. wharfingers quotations 100s per cwt. New Zealand cheese: White 59s per cwt, coloured 575.
