PALMERSTON" N., This, Day, In sunny but windy weather the Manawatu Bowling Centre's New Year pairs tournament was. brought to a conclusion yesterday afternoon. In the final G Holdaway and R; Ross, of the Palmerston North Club, defeated -J. Kershaw and H. Preece (Manawaiu). Third and fourth places went to W. Helsby and O. Christiansen (Terrace End), and P. Bourke and C. Sheehan (Patea) ( respectively. , The ?? me is on the Palmerston North Club> green j. which was a.- trifle heavy at the outset, ■ although later, under the influence of,-;the sun and wind; it dried up. At the conclusion, of the play the trophies won were presented by Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., president of the Manawatu Centre.
