CENTRAL THE; WINNERS

Two rinks from Victoria, Karori, and Lyall Bay, and one from each of Hutt and Central, took part in the post-section play at the Hutt Valley New Year bowling tournament on Central green' yesterday. The two Victpria rinks were" defeated in the semi-final round by Central and Karori, Central ultimately winning the final. The first round results were as follows:

Frame, Bell, Allen, Howat. (Central), 16; McKenzie, Walker, Hazlewood, Lawrie (Lyall Bay), 15.

O'Connor, Clark, Robinson, Scolon (Victoria), 25; Uren, McKenzic, Parker, Shearer (Hutt), 15. -•• . *

Emerson, Pole, Bolton, Tucker (Victoria), 25; Littlejohn, Grant, Ifeilson,, Gilbert (Karori), 20. - ; .'

McFarlaue, Dempster, Gapes; Crawford (Karori), 26; Dick, Creeke, Hastings, Levestam (Lyall Bay), 12. , <■■.: In the Bemi-final Tucker's team performed disappointingly against Howat's, the iinal score being Howat 28, Tucker 14. The other Victoria team, led ty Scolon, were only just beaten after an:extra head, Crawford, leading Karori, winning 19-18. The final between Central (Howat) and Karori (Crawford) was fairly open, the score mounting from. 10-6 in Central's favour to 15-6, 16-10, 17-15, 17-16, and finally to 20-17. ■
