Mrs. 6. D. Greenwood, who has been spending Christmas in Auckland, arrived in Wellington this morning, and will leave for Christchurch this evening. Misses Laura and Dorothy Loughnan, Christchurch, will arrive in Wellington to-morrow for a visit* Miss K. Gillies, Wellington, is sponding her vacation with her mother, Mrs. J. L; Gillies, Timam. Miss Mary Maclean, Palmerston North, is paying a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs.'Warwick Gregory left Wellington to-day for Picton, and will motor Through tho South Island. Miss Marjory Murie, Seatpun, has boon appointed probationer at the Oarterton Private Hospital. A correspondent asks for a recipe for making black currant jam so that the berries will be soft and plump. Mrs. A. Rhodes, Wright street, and her two daughters have taken a cottago at Day's Bay for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. E. Gilkison,' Wellington, are spending the holidays at Queenstown. Miss Harcourt, who has just returned from England and. abroad, is staying with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Harcourt in Hobson street. Miss Eileen Joel, the beautiful daughter of the late Mr. S. B. (Solly) Joel, the diamond millionaire, is to marry Mr. Frank L. J. • Rogerson, a stockbroker,: in a London registry office, states a London writer. Notice has been given of the marriage, which will take place.by liceiico at Prince's Row Registry Office. Mr. Rogerson is a partner in the firm of Sir R. W. Carden and Co., Limited, stockbrokers, of Pinner's Hall, Austin Friars.
