TO-MORROW'S SALE
The second 'Wellington wool sale of the current season will open at the Town Hall at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. As reported yesterday, a total of 10,047 bales will be offered, a figure well below the limit of 30,000 bales fixed by the New Zealand Wool Committee. At the last Wellington sale on Sth December, 22,228 bales were offered (the limit again being 30,000), and those sold totalled 10,567 bales, or 71.3S per cent. Passings totalled 03G1 bales. The net •"■eight of the wool was 5,044.4561b, the gross proceeds amounted to £110,212 7s 4rl, the avera.se price per bale was £7 10>- 3d, and the average price per pound :..16H. It is confidently anticipated that prices to-morrow will show a small advance on those which ruled at the December sale. At the Christchurch sale on 11th December the top price was lH4d per 1b for 11 bales of halfbred ewe. Corriedale hocrcrets reached lid, and Merino ewes lO^irl. ' The best prif-e fnr crossbreds was 7%d. At Timaru on 14th December, a halfbred clip reached 10V4d. The top prices for Corriedales and Merinos were 9d and'Sd, respectively, and the highest price. for crossbreds was 7 1id.
