Walker, waited to perform the ceremony, with Lord Gosford as best man, and distinguished guests present, tho city authorities refused the Duke of Manchester a licence to marry the English actress. Miss Kathleen Dawes. They gave.the reason that the State law required that three years must elapse before the re-marriage of anyone divorced, whereas the Duke was divorced in England only a few weeks I "go.
The Duke was plainly upset and remarked that he would probably carry out liis original intention of getting married in Havana.
