Japanese troops entered Chinchow at 6 o'clock this morning, the vanguard consisting of cavalry and two armoured trains commanded by Major-General Yoshimura. The final stages from Kaopangtze were accomplished without resistance, the Chinese regulars withdrawing and permitting the free entry of the Japanese.
Chinchow is in great confusion. The invaders have found it necessary to declare martial law and assume absolute control.
