MIRAMAR TOURNEY
WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS
Although some games had to be delayed until the return of players from the Hartinborougli tournament, steady progress was made yesterday with play at the Wellington lawn tennis championship tournament on the association's courts at Miramar. The weather throughout the day was perfect, and the courts were in good playing order. Several o£ tho leading players were seen in action, and whenever they made an appearance their play was followed with interest. Results of yesterday afternoon's play, in addition to those which have already appeared in "The Post," were as follows: MEN'S SINGLES. First Grade. First Round.—W. V. Fisher beat D. F. Glen, 6-3, 64. Second Grade. Second Round.—N. Davys beat N. F. N. Bedford, 6-2, 6-4; X Reeves beat A. h. King, 6.-1. 0-4. Third Grade. First Round.—R. P. Smith beat B. Kinghnm. 6-3, 5-6, 0-3. Third Round.—A. G. Smith beat K. 1\ Gibson, C-l, 6-1. MEN'S DOUBLES. First Grade. First Round.—H. V. Clark andi W D. Sykes beat G. M. Scott and G. Wallace, 6-2, G-3. Third Grade. First Round.—G. M. Scott and G.
