MICROPHONE IN COURT
RECORDING PROCEEDINGS
(Received 31st December, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 30th December. Microphones have been experimental-, j ly installed in the Manchester Sessions Court. The proceedings were recorded electro-magnetically on a steel tape, forming a permanent record which can be reproduced on loudspeakers or headphones. This system of keeping police records is already operating in Scotland Yard, but not yet in any Courts. It is suggested thaj it will greatly shorten legal proceedings.
