FINE BRITISH FEATS

AIRMEN PRAISED

THE MAIL FLIGHT

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received 31st December, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 30th December. Reviewing the year 1931 the-Society of British Aircraft Constructors places Bert Hinkler's trans-Atlantic flight second only to Stainforth's and Boothman's speed achievements as the year's finest British feat. It praises the achievements of Scott, Mollison, Butler, and Chichester, and Broadbent's circumnavigation of Australia, and says: "The mischance of weather must not be allowed to overshadow the Southern Star's flight to England under a fortnight heavily laden, which will take pride of place among commercial journeys on the Anglo-Australian route."
