SATURDAY'S MEETING,
The occasions have been rare on irew Zealand's speedways when as' many as five riders from overseas have been in action at the one meeting, and it will be Wellington's good fortune to see , five visitors at the special holiday meeting to be held at the Kilbirnie Stadium on Saturday night. America, England, and Australia will be represented, America by Ray Tauser, a famous cinder-shifter making his first appearance in New Zealand. Of the other four overseas representatives, Frank Duckett (Australia) and Jack Jackson (England) will also be making their first appearance here, while Eric Whittle (Australia) will be competing in Wellington for the first time this season, though he has given spectacular displays on the local track in the past. Tom S'arndon, the other visitor, iß'ofle of England's foremost visitors,- and on his previous appearance in .Wellington this season he gave but a small, taste of his ability.. Since then' he has accomplished ■ big things in Auckland, and is regarded as the best rider ever seen there. Tauser has made a big name far himself in. Australia, as well as -in England, and. there .will be great interest -in his. doings here. The internationals are to meet Wellington's best in'a special series of match races on Saturday night', and in'the course of this racing ■ Farndoh and Kilmister will meet each other. These two are. also being given opportunities of > breaking the record of 7fisec for four laps, established by "Frank Pearce two seasons ago. Other events make up a programme which looks to be one of the .best ever arranged for a meeting here, and there should be some wonderfully fine broadsidins; displays and thrilling contests. A special announcement regarding'the meeting .is published elsewhere in this issue.: . 1
