CYCLE ROAD RACE
PALMERSTON-WELLINGTON
Progress reports of the cycle road race to be held to-morrow from Palmerston North to the Basin Reserve, Wellington, will be posted in several shop windows in town, and arrangements have also been made for their receipt at the Basin. There has been one scratching in the list ot competitors published on Monday, 11. Dwiglit, one of the leading Auckland riders, unfortunately being uuable to take part. The following are the teams selected to compete for the Wellington Tobacconists Shield: — , ,„ , Auckland A: R. Foubister, C. A. Glalk, J. Leather. , _ . „ Wellington A: L. Roberts, J. Campbell, D. Evans. „, , Auckland B: Casey, G. P. Clark. Wellington B_ C. Tasker, S. Wright, U. Blackett. , . The shield has been presented for annual competition. , . Provided conditions are reasonably tavourable the first competitor is expected to reach the Basin Reserve at approximately 3 o'clock. A programme of whippet and cycle racing will be provided to entertain the spectators waiting to see the finish.
