GOVERNMENT LOANS
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Since the cut in wages most landlords have reduced their rents. Why does not the Government do something for its tenants? If the State Advances Department cannot reduce the rate of interest, why does it not extend the term of payment, thus reducing iho rent and making it possible for people to pay their way? Rates, .fire insurance,' and second mortgages have to be paid" also. It is impossible to live without (jetting into debt, food being no cheaper either. Surely the Government will do; something, or else have more houses left;on its hands.—l am, CC" A WORRIED HOUSEWIFE;
