THE PAREMATA BRIDGE

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Recently it was announced that the Unemployment Board was visiting the South Island, viewing specially the uncompleted through roads, such as the Kingston to Queenstown road. If the Hon. Mr. Hamilton has been successful in getting Mr. Coates to finish this load, then we hope that Mr. Field will be sue-1 cessful in getting Mr. Coates to honour the promise which Mr. Coates made _to Mr. Field just prior to going out of office, that he would, when the opportunity came again, bridge the Paremata Harbour and so shorten the road into Plimmerton., The bridge need ouly be a light traffic bridge, and the road is level into Plimmerton and very suitable for the unemployed to be put on to. —I am, etc., - L., G. AUSTIN.
