HAUTERE CLUB

A very pleasant afternoon's shooting took place on Saturday on the Hautere Rifle Club's range; The day, called Ladies': Day, was not a perfect one for shooting, a. Very tricky, wind , being troublesome, especially at;the,6oo yards range. Nevertheless, members who took care came off! the best. The lucky ladies for the day were Miss R. Eagle 1 (nominated by' Rflmn. J. Fielding) and Mrs. H. Lumsden 2 (nominated by Rflmn. H. Lumsden). The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club will fire a further practice match to-morrow over ranges o£ 500 and 600 yards, ten shots at each range. The first match in the championship series will'be fired on Saturday, 17th, October. N The Petone Rifle Club will fire a practice match at 500' and 600 yards ranges at Tventham to-morrow. The club, championship • and other competitions will commence, on the following Saturday. The' Old Navals' Defence Rifle Club will hold a practice shoot at Trentham to-mor-row afternoon; at 500 and 600 yards. All members and intending members are requested to attend, as this will be the last opportunity of .tryingrifles,out prior to starting .thei club competitions.
