ADDRESSED BY LEADERS NO VOTE BY LIBERALS (British Official Wireless.) (Beceived Bth October, 11 a.m.) KUGBY, 7th October. Conservative members of Parlia-ment-were addressed last night by Mr. Stanley Baldwin, who explained the conditions under which the election will be fought and emphasised that they entailed no sacrifice of Conservative principles. A vote of confidence in Mr. Baldwin was carried with acclamation, oil tho (motion of Mr. Winston Churchill.

Sir Herbert Samuel addressed the Liberal Parliamentary Party last night. The meeting separated without a vote being taken. The newly-formed National Liberal Group, comprising 21 members, yesterday appointed Sir John Simon as chair-

man and set up an organisation to support Liberal candidates who are in full sympathy with the Prime Minister's attitude. '..' ■ ' A statement issued yesterday that, Mr. Lloyd George is still strongly opposed to an election and is severely critical of the action of Liberal Ministers in committing themselves to consideration of a tariff policy, has drawn attention to the confusion which exists among the general body of Liberals owing to the ambiguity in tho interpretation of national policy regarding tariffs.
