The Empire Industries Association hi a statement says that the association, supported by its Parliamentary Committee, embracing 97 per cent, of the Conservative backbenchers, asks tho country to give the Prime Minister a definite mandate to correct immediately the adverse trade balance, protect British industry and agriculture, preserve tho workers' standard of living, and ■ promote- inter-Imperial trade by the widest reciprocal preference. It promises to support candidates of whatever party, who adopt tariffs and other protective measures. j
