General Election had a good'effe'et On the financial markets in London yesterday, and to-day the markets opened with a good tone on tho firmness' of the sterling rate. The pound was quoted at 100 francs this morning, and the dollar at 3.91 J. Leading British funds were generally i to J points better, and an upward movement observable elsewhere.
