IN FORM A YEAR AGO

Two horses lacing at Otaki to-morrow were successful in events at the meeting last year. They are Acora and Trojan Melody, who' are both in to-morrow's' open sprint. Acora was the winner of the sprint last year, but she had been showing winning form i'or a month previously. !Now she is having her first race since last 'December, and she can haidly be expected to be forward enough to boat the best ot to-mor-row's strong field. Still, she has 01b less to saddle up than she did twelve months ago. Trojan Melody's win was in the Pahiko Hack Handicap. "Ho too had scored a short while previously. To date this season his only start has been that in which he finished fourth behind Lady Quex, Arisu's, and Silvermine at Wanganui, but as that was quite a creditable showing, and probably worked considerable improvement in him, he must be allowed more than an I outside chance to-morrow. Other horses engaged to-morrow who ran into places last year are Pahu' (second in the Ling Memorial Stakes), Fitzquex (second in the Katihiku Hack Handicap), Playground (third in t the Taumanuka Hack Haridicap), and Valrewa (third in the Puhi Maiden Plate).
