CONCERT AND PLAYS
A most enjoyable • performance was given in the St. James Parish Room, Lower Hutt, last night, when a concert programme and threte plays were present-, 'ed'in aid of the parish funds. Ably stagemanaged by Miss Mary, Ellis, the plays made a decided hit, especially "The Warming' Pan," a typical W. W. Jacobs bit of humour, and "The Ghost of Lord Eustace;" wherein a most realistic spook that carried its head in its hand retrieved, the family fortunes., The third play was'a shorter one, a sketch: entitled "Off The Lines." Those taking part were MissM. Wilcocks, Miss P. Greenwood* ■ Miss G. Hansell; Mr. J. Welch, Mr. E. G. Foster, Mr. J. Lee, and Mr. J. Reid. The concert part of the programme was very much "subject- to alteration," as was humorously explained, but what there_ was of it was quite successful. Miss Eileen Kimbell and Mr. A. Flanagan contributed songs, and Miss Nancy - Williamß danced.
