BRITISH FUNDS IMPROVE
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oth October. The outstanding feature at the close of the stock markets to-day was the substantial improvement recorded in leading British funds following on the renewed investment buying, together with a sharp recovery in sterling rate. War loan 5 per cent, stock finally was quoted at 1% points up, at 98, and international descriptions closed firmer.
