THE FRUIT INDUSTRY
(From Our Own Correspondent.) NELSON, 6th October. The Kelson Miniature Kifle Association held a successful annual' championship meeting with large entries in all competitions. Rifleman W. Freeth, won the championship with an aggregate of 383 points out of a possible 390. The teams match resulted: Wood A, 1246 points; Port A, 1232; Wood B, 1222. Matters concerning the Nelson fruitgrowing industry will be discussed next Friday when Messrs. A. M. Robertson (chairman of the New Zealand Fruit Control Board), H. Napier (general manager and secretary of the Fruitgrowers' Federation), T. C. Brash (chairman of the Federation and member of the Control Board), D. Raining (member of the Control Board), and W. Benzies (secretary of the board), will be in Nelson. In the morning they will meet the Nelson Advisory Board and delegates to the recent Dominion Conference, to discuss various remits submit-! ted. to the Dominion Conference which ;ifleet Nelson only. Tn the afternoon the visiting members will nioct the combined executives of the Nelson Associations wliou si.geriernl discussion will bo held on matters concerning tlio industry. According I.D reports received payments for this year's exports will be made to some Nelson growers next week.
