SICK LIBERAL LEADER
OPPOSED TO ELECTION VISITED BY MACDONALD (British Official Wireless.) (Received 6th October, 11 a.m.-) ' RUGBY, sth October. Thu . Liberal Leader, Mr. Lloyd George, is still strongly opposed to a General Election. Yesterday he was visited at his country residence by Sir Herbert Samuel, Acting-Leader of the party, and the "Manchester Guardian" states that tho two leaders are in complete agreement as to the course which should be taken. On returning to London Sir Herbert Samuel visited tho Prime Minister, who had come back tq Downing Street from Chequers, where he had spent tho week-end. Hitherto tho Prime Minister, who has been in constant personal touch with the other party leaders, has had no opportunity of meeting Mr. Lloyd George. This morning Mr. Mac Donald drove to Churt to meet tho Liberal Leader, and it is recognised that much importance attaches to this interview. It is probable that there will be a further meeting of Cabinet this afternoon.
