SONS OF NIGHT RAID
Two full relatives in the four-year-old Tarquinius and the two-year-old Pillow Fight, both by Night Raid from the imported mare Week End, left their stables at Kiirow and Hastings respectively on Saturday morning with the avowed intention of opening their winning account before returning. The former succeeded, arid the latter was probably unlucky not to do bo too. Tarquinius, though four years old, has not raced much yet., Prior tp Saturday he had started only nine times, five of the occasions being as a twc-year-old. Evidently a distance of ground is going to suit him; for Saturday's race-was over i mile. Pillow. Fight was making his public debut at Greenmeadows.\ He Was backed as though unbeatable because of some brilliant work he had been executing on the Hastings plough, but he was slow in beginning and the effort to get up to the leaders left him without sufficient reserve in hand for the finish. Hastings trackwatchers will be disappointed if this youngster does not make the third real champion sired by Night Raid.
