Hundreds of friends and relatives fare welled tho Discovery r on her departure on a cruise in the Far South to secure data for improving Antarctic charts. The Vessel will visit South Africa, Australia, and Now Zealand. The main object of the voyage will^be tho scientific investigation of the whaling industry, to enable it to be placed on a sound commercial basis.
