TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Mr. R. G. Ridling, principal of th« 'Wellington Technical College, visited th« college courts to open the season for th« Old Students' Club. He complimented th« club on the progress it had made, and referred to the growth of tennis as a gam* and to the good which the sport did for young players, There were elso present Mr. E. B. Evans, president of the club, and -Mr*. Evans, Mr. W. Britton, vice-president. Councillor W. H. Bennett and Mrs. Bennett, aad Mr. J. H. Howell. About on« hundred members and their, friends wer* at the club, and afternoon tea was served by the ladies' committee, the table* in th« pavilion being decorated with flowers given by Mr. C. Odlin. Mr. Howell waa. given a hearty welcome, this being. hit first appearance at an annual . functio* since his relinquishment of ■ the director-' ship of the college. The first ball waa served over the net by Miss J. Buck, tb« club champion, and play.continued until a late hour. ■* . . ■ v •
