RELIABILITY TRIAL

A 200 miles reliability trial—the annual competition for the Norton Cup—was held yesterday by the Ixion Motor-cycle Club. There were 87 competitors, of whom the first batch left Thorndon Station at 8 a.m. The route wag to Waikanae, via Porirua, and thence through the Akatarawa Gorge, over th« Kimutakas to Martinborough and Oladetone. Near Gladstone, where the rider* were halted for an hour, a hot luncheon wm provided by the Masterton MotoMycle Club. From Gladstone the competitors continued,to Mastertoh, from Svhence they returned to Wellington by the, main road. . Perfect weather prevailed, and competitors found that the average*' for the various sections were'not difficult tain.
