KARORI CLUB
On Saturday the Karori Defence Rifle Club held a shoot over ranges 300 and 500 yards., Pres. H. T. Marshall being in charge of a full attendance. The light was good, but at the short range the gentle "fishtail" wind was somewhat deceptive- and accounted for a good many "inneru." At this range J. I. King led the field with a fine 48, followed by P. B. Goldfinch with 46. At 500 yards the wind was steadier, having veered to the left. The, veteran shot, F. W. Ohing, led the.field here with 47, closely followed by J. B. Ritchie, P. rf. Goldfinch, E. Frankland; A. I. Coleman, and R. D. Potts with 46 each. This was the first competition shoot of the season, a scratch and a handicap w.eekly trophy being contested. The winners were: Scratch, P. B. Goldfinch, 92; handicap, R. D. Potts, 93. \ The prospects for the season appear bright, as there are already five new members, who appear to be the makings of good shots. The club welcomed as ■ a visitor Mr. C. Moore, a prominent member of the Hutt Valley Gun Club. The scores were:— 300 500 Hp. Tl. yds. yds. R. D. Potts 44 46 3 93 P. B. Goldfinch ..... 46 46 — 92 A. I. Coleman 42 46 4 92 H.
