HANDICAPS DECLARED

PALMERSTON-WELLINGTON

On Saturday next the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Union of Cyclists will hold its second annual cycle road race from Palmerston North to the Basin Reserve, Wellington. > The Mayor of Palmerston North has agreed to start the race, which will begin from the Square in Palmerston North, at 9 a.m. The route will be by the main road, via Foxton, a distance of about 100 miles. On reaching the Basin Reserve the riders will do one lap of the track before finishing. Arrangements have been made for a'mimbr of feeding stations, and - the competitors will receive ample nourishment en route. ~'■', The following handicaps have been declared by Mr. M. With such a strong contingent of riders from Auckland, the local pedallers will ; be kept on the move. Two of the AucUlanders, Clarke and Dwight, registered fine performances in last years race.
