100 MILES CHAMPIONSHIP
A FINE PERFORMANCE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' , DUNEDIN, 4th October. The New Zealand 100 Miles Amateur Road Cycling Championship, held to-day, from Dunedih to Balclutha and back, was won by; J. L. Richards (Christchurch), who put up a very fine performance to cover the distance from scratch in shr Bmin 41sec, also gaining the fastest time. Last year's champion,, F. J. Grose '(Christchurch), -appeared to have the race in hand when a tire burst about 3d miles from home, and he lost about 20 minutes. The second fastest time went to D. O'Brien (Otago); with shr lomin 42sec, and fastest time under 1& to R. H. Timins (Pacific Club, Dunedin), with shr 56min. 36sec. The following is the result, with actual times:— •'..-• .'-. , ■< J.
