ROWING CLUB OPENING
A feature of each opening day of tlie rowing season in Wellington is. a danco held by the Star Boating Club. Tho season was officially inaugurated on Saturday, and following the festivities in the afternoon a dance was held ir£ the club rooms in the evening. There was a very large attendance of members and their friends, the dance proving a great success. The hall presented a very animated appearance, J)lue and white streamers, representing the club colours, being festooned round the walls. The various trophies won by the club were on exhibition. A very dainty supper was provided by members' of the committee. Among those present were Mesdames G. 0. Cooke (who wore floral taffeta), T. B. Anyon (floral taffeta), Donald Brooker (black lace), A. B. Corlieson (red lace), Misses B. Harper (floral taffeta), A. Asher (pink chiffon), G. Faber (sky blue lace), Babington - (blue taffeta), Lee (pink net), Prentice (blue lace), Edlund (black lace), A. Sutherland (floral taffeta and organdi), Wellwood black chiffon), D. Brown (black velvet), E. Boden (red velvet), B. Collins (green lace), Pierce, Auckland (broivn ninon), Morgan (black silk lace), and Curran (blue lace).
