The fact that mueb interest was taken in the effort made yesterday at the Y.W.C.A. in the way of a sale of work done by people out of employment was shown by , the good results of the sale, as the gratifying sum of £26 17s was takon. The display of work' was most creditable, the standard being high, and the results sufficient to be a great assistance to some- of t'je workers. Tlio association acknowledges with appreciation the services of Mesdames Wallis and Tait and Misses Maddevet and Newton, to whose enthusiasm the success of tho effort is due. Those who sent in goods for »:ile are asked to call at the Y.W.0.A." on Wednesday afternoon between tho hours of 2 and 4 p.m., when money due th'ein* may be collected. Tho Y.W.C.A. .contemplates' holding another salo within" the next ton days, wher goods not disposed of yesterday will again be offered for sale, and those interested ate asked to' leaye their articles at tho association on1-Friday of next week. - * .. The mending and darning depot is in urgent need of work, and the association again assures the public that all mending, darning, 'and plain sewing will be executed both promptly and efficiently.
