EUGBY, Ist October. No change was made in the Bank of England discount rate to-day.

On the Stock Exchange this morning the outstanding feature was the strength displayed by, leading high-class investment securities following upon tho favourable tendency of sterling on foreign exchanges with New York cablo oxchange quoted at 3 dollars 94$ cents. Leading British funds were all either J or $ point up. British funds continued strong on influential buying, a rise of 1J and 1$ points occurring in the principal funds.

The price of gold to-day decreased by Is 7d to £5 3s Bd.
