THE LIQUID WAY

NEW YORK'S THREE-DAYS

Though curves of a gentle and not-too-obvious nature have returned to fashion, New York women are experimenting with new ways of dieting (states a correspondent in the "Daily Mail"). One of the newest Is the three-days liquid diet which is being followed by hundreds or American women. Any woman who .adopts a new diet is strongly urged to consult her doctor first. On three days of the month solid food is avoided. Instead, clear broths, orangeade, buttermilk, and any other liquid liked is taken. By this rather rigorous intensive dieting several pounds of superfluous flesh are sometimes lost. In between the three days' dieting fattening foods containing starchy elements and sweets are cut down. Corrective eating is the catchword of the moment, and is the strongest rival in the three-days dietary. A diet chart giving vitamin foods, mineral salts, bulk and other natural food chemicals, is drawn up and rigidly followed. The "patient" takes one hour or more daily outdoor exercise and fifteen minutes.of calisthenics, drinking pints of water during the day between meals.

One day a month is devoted to a "fruit-juice fast," during which a glass of fruit-juice is taken every hour until- 6 p.m., when the fast <mds •with a light -dinner of vegetables.
