ANGLICAN GIRLS
INTERCLUB TOURNAMENT
An event of considerable importance and interest which haa been looked forward to for some time took place in St. Peter's Clubroom, being the occasion of the Anglican girls' annual interdub tournament, There was a very enthusiastic crowd .'present, and the tournament consisted ','pf. competitions in cookiig, plain sowing, and fancywork, crochet, etc., also .•/». ping-pong contest. The senior banner for the club gaining the highest number ;ofpoint» was won by St. Peter'g (senior)^ while St. Mary's (Karori) 'secured; .second place. A banner, was also competed for among the junior sections, St. Mary's being the winning club, while St. Peter's was second. Mrs. Sprott dphated a cup for thejgirl winning the highest number of points, and this was -won by Miss E. Newcombe (St. Mary's, senior), who gained 24 points, Miss M. Lyon (St. Peter's, senior) being second with 22 points. Miss Newcombe also won the trophy for the highest winner of points in fancywork, while Miss Lyon was equally successful in the cooking section. The finals for the ping-pong tournament were playad between St. Peter's (senior) and St. Cuthbert's (Berhampore), the latter club being-the winner by three points. In expressing thanks to the judges, to whom the success of the evening was largely due, the society also took the opportunity of thanking the donors of the various prizes. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close shortly after 10 p.m., when a dainty supper was handed round by the club girls. A party takes place next month for 'the distribution of prizes and trophies. ;
