COTTAGE PROVIDED
BREAKER BAY DISTRESS FUND
A meeting of members of the Breaker Bay Progressive Association was held last evening. The committee, in presenting its report, stated that a sufficient sum had been raised on behalf of the widow and children of the late Mr. G. Williams to purchase a cottage. The proposal of the committee to. purchase ■ a cottage at Treritham for Mrs. Williams and her children was submitted to :tho" meeting and approved. It was stated that through the generosity of the vendor the committee would be enabled "to hand over the property -without encumbrance. Satisfaction was expressed -at the voluntary services of a number of citizens who had, by assisting in various capacities, enabled the whole of the donations to the fund to be credited to their object without deflecting even the.smallest amount for any. administrative costs. The committee expressed its sincere thanks.to all those who have assisted,, especially to the following, who are deserving of special recognition:—"The Evening Post" (for its prompt and generous response in opening the public subscription list), tho Artillery Military Baud and Miss Cooley and party (concert in Eilbirnie Kinoma Theatre), the Scatoun Bowling Club and ladies (Sea-, toun dance), Mr. Yeoman (printing), Williamson's Films, Ltd. (Kilbiroie Kinoma Theatre), Nurse Compton, F. W. Nicholson, Esq. (Hon. secretary), L. Blanchard, Esq. (Hon. treasurer), C. <T. Phclps,, Esq., J. Shout, Esq., P. W. Banks, Esq., F. Williams, Esq., H. Jcfr fi'ics, Esq. and Messrs. Young's Agencies Ltd. (conveyancing). It was decided that the subscription lists and deed of trust should be deposited for public inspection at Messrs. Young's Agencies, Ltd., land brokers.
