Evidence of the discovery in a block of flats, 37, Sentinel road, Ponsonby, of traces' of seven different fires started with cotton waste,- strips of paper, linoleum, and box wood " saturated 'in oil and kerosene, wqs given- in the Police Court to-day^ .when. : Charles Vernon, a tailor, aged 55, was charged with wilfully setting fire to a buildin* thereby committing arson. -. * ■ - Yernon, who, is ; the, owner of- th« flats, pleaded guilty, .and was com* mitted for- sentence.. . .'../.'"
