Hearing that a new disorder had broken out among the Spanish Foreign Legion at Dariffien, who wero threatening to march on Ceuta, General San Jurjo, who hastened there from Tetuan by motor-car, jumped out and pummelled the astonished mutineers freely with his fists, exclaiming: "In Morocco I am the Republic and the only law."
The General's energetic action quickly restored discipline.
