HUTT v. WELLINGTON.
The ground ■was very heavy for the HuttWellington game played on the Hutt Recreation Ground. Throughout the game Hutt had the best of the play, and won by--2. goals to 1. Right from -the! initial bully the Reds led the attack, '.and kept, it up .for most of the first half., The Wellington players were lacking in com; •bination, and at times their play ywas very scrappy. The team'was handicapped by not having the services of Mahoney, Hood, Thorns, and the 'Lusty brothers. Judd was the first, lo'open Hutt's score. From the bully-oflt the Keds continued to press hard, and shortly afterwards Gwilliam, from a scramble just inside the circle, scored with a good shot/ Wellington was very slow to make use o£.opportunities. The half-time score was! Hutt 2, Wellington 0. Several times during the second spell Wellington made a determined effort, but bad shooting lost them more than one goal. Play fluctuated for a while, neither team making much headway. About twelve minutes before the final whistle went Wellington ■ livened up. The ball was taken from mid-field into Hutt's territory, where. Flack got possession and icored a nice goal. The final score was: Hutt 2, Wellington '1. Dr. ITickey and Mr. W. Keys were the referees. ■ "
