ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

The opening of the Soccer season will take place to-morrow, when the first round of the senior championship will be played. At the Kilbirnie Stadium, Waterside and Diamond will meet, and tills game ia bound to draw a large crowd of supporters. Waterside have considerably strengthened their team since last season, and provided they play the same football shown by them last year, they will be exceptionally hard to defeat. Diamond, always a hard team to dispose of, have been training steadily, and their team being' practically the same as last, season, has all the polish and team play that is so necessary. The game_ is bound to give supporters many exciting incident?. The curtain-raiser will be a game between H.M.S. Diomede and Swifts. This in itself should be worth seeing, as the Xavy is renowned for the football it plays. At Fetone, the Thistle team will again be seen in senior football, and their game against such a strong team as Pctone. should be an interesting guide to their future games. Marist and Hospital will play at the Hospital ground, and W.Y.M.I. and Seatoun will meet at Seatoun.
