ORIENTAL BAY

(To the Editor.) Sir, —May it be suggested that now is a good time for something to ■be done to make Oriental Bay a real'bathing beach? During the formation of the esplanade preat 'quantities of stone and bricks were dumped along the beach, with the result that there aro now qn]y one or' two sandy patches. It appears to be a very simple proposition to put gome of the unemployed at work to pick up ,and cart away this debris, and then to finish off by dumping about six scow-loads of - good sand close in at high tide. This sand should stay put for several years, and could always be renewed from time to time. The result would be a really attractive beach available for everybody. Do it now, and help some of the unemployed.— I am, etc., JTTZ.
