ISLAND BAY MEETING
A public meeting will bo held in St. Hilda's Hall, Humber street, Island Bay,, at 8 p.m. on "Wednesday, to receive the laland"Bay committee's final report.
At the conclusion of the business of the oarthquak© appeal a resolution will be submitted to.-..the meeting regarding the- advisability of'the-appointment of a permanent distress relief committee
for tho Island Bay district. The idea isto help the families in distress in the district by . raising lunds in various ways. In" short, to raise money in the district, and to purchase goods in the district for the benefit of the people bf the district. It is not intended to consider: the question of securing employment or the paying out of large sums of money. .
