TRAPPED BY EXPLOSION

Three thousand Chinese miners have been entrapped by an explosion in Japanese-owned coal mines at IPushun, twenty miles eastward of Mukden, state Chinese telegrams. Despite two days' rescue work, the majority are still entombed. There are harrowing pithead scenes as thousands of relatives clamour for news of their'breadwinners.
