NEW PLYMOUTH, This Bay, A fall of earth in the Elliott street " liquification .chamber in connection with New Plymouth's new sewerage system caused the death of Harry Popham (31) last night. Another worker, H. Wilson, received a fractured thigh whea a previous fall- of earth pecurred on. Monday night. Popham was engaged stripping th« walls in preparation for a lining ofconerete. The soil is of a sandy nature, and,' comes away without the slightest warning.
