SPEEDWAY RACING
SATURDAY'S EVENTS,
Although the test between the British and New Zealand speedway teams will be taking place at Dunedin on Saturday, night, only one of Wellington's riders will be away for the event. Provision has been made for contests in plenty at the Eilbirnie Stadium,on Saturday night, and with them there will be a supply of information regarding the progress/of the Test at Dunedin. The news as to how the New Zealand team fares against the redoubtable British representatives is being eagerly awaited. An event which should provide excellent entertainment of an entirely different'variety from that previously enjoyed at the speedway will be a draughthorse race. There will be a full series of races far1 the visiting and local cindershifters, and in the more important events some high-class performances should be registered, especially as the visiting riders include C. Spinks and H. Stevens. Spinks, who is keen to set up a new record for the track, is always a favourite, aad he Stevens, and Whittle, as well as Tonks, Hunger, Phillips, and other local riders, should provide plenty or spectacular racing., ..
