QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT

SYDNEY, 10th February. In the New South Wales Legislative Assembly a Labour member, Mr. Kelly, asked whether the Chief Secretary wore aware of the existence of a secret organisation known as the Defence Association, composed of prominent citizens, who were being given theoretical training in the use of firearms. Mr. M. Gosling, the Chief Secretary, replied that certain inquiries already had been made, revealing it to be more of, a comic opera organisation than anything else. It need not bo taken seriously, he said.
